What the MAIPCP covers
Manitoba’s Adult Insulin Pump Coverage Program (MAIPCP) provides support for insulin pumps to eligible adults 18 years or older with Type 1 diabetes. By expanding coverage in 2023 to remove prior age limits, Manitoba now enables more people to access pump technology throughout adulthood.

Insulin Pumps
- Eligible adults who meet criteria can receive full coverage for approved insulin pumps.
- Applicants must not have received a government-funded pump in the previous five years.
- Pumps must be obtained from approved suppliers and ordered through the program.
Pump Supplies and Monitors
- While pumps are fully funded under MAIPCP, ongoing supplies such as infusion sets, reservoirs, and pods are covered under Manitoba Pharmacare, which may require meeting your deductible.
- Advanced glucose monitors (CGMs or AGMs) are also supported under Pharmacare for eligible clients.
- Because of this split, some people may still have out-of-pocket costs for supplies before reaching their Pharmacare deductible.
This combination of full device coverage plus Pharmacare support for supplies and monitors lowers barriers significantly, although it may not remove all costs.
Who is eligible
To qualify for the Manitoba Adult Insulin Pump Coverage Program, you must:
- Be a Manitoba resident with an active Manitoba Health registration number.
- Be 18 years or older.
- Have a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.
- Be recommended for insulin pump therapy by an endocrinologist or physician responsible for your diabetes care.
- Be able to safely use a pump, either by current use or through assessment.
- Not have received a pump through the program in the last five years.
Because the program expanded in 2023, prior age restrictions were removed. Adults of all ages are now eligible if they meet medical and program criteria.
Coverage details and approved pumps
The Manitoba program maintains an approved list of suppliers and models.
- Approved pumps are available through designated suppliers once your application is approved.
- If you already use a pump that meets program safety and supplier requirements, you may continue under the program.
- Program brochures recommend that people with private insurance choose a single pump company to simplify supply reimbursements.

Support beyond funding
MAIPCP ensures the cost of pumps is covered, but many people still face challenges with the day-to-day details of diabetes care. That is where additional support can make a real difference.
- Clinician access when you need it: The Endor Health app allows ongoing communication with your care team, so questions about therapy or adjustments do not have to wait for the next appointment.
- Reliable supply delivery: The Endor Health app makes it easy and free to get home delivery of insulin, prescription items and pump supplies, reducing the risk of missed refills or last-minute pharmacy visits.
